What?

One to one tuition in throwing on the potter’s wheel

How long? How much?

There are 3 options:

*First session, have a go!

Special introduction offer, 90 minutes session for £45, or share with a friend 45 minutes each for £30 each, try it out, this could be either a just for fun one off experience or to see if you want to do more. If so choose from:

*Grass hopper

90 minute lessons, focussed one to one tuition

 £49 a session. Pay as you go.

*Pottery Ninjas

Block booking, 6 lessons at £45 a session, total £270 for 6 week course.

Lessons are 1 and a half hours long, usually an hours one to one tuition followed by 30 minutes practice time.

 

What is included?

All materials and tools. Grasshoppers: up to 2 pots a session bisk fired. Ninjas up to 3 pots bisk and glaze fired.

 

What do you need to bring?

An apron or clothes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy. Everything else is provided.

 

When?

Week days 11am to 1pm, Tuesdays and Wednesday after 5pm.

What is involved? 

​

Students will get focused step by step tuition in throwing on the wheel from an experienced professional potter, you will learn efficient techniques that lead on to designing your own forms. It is suitable for anyone who wants to learn from total beginners to those with some experience who want a more focused systematic approach than is typically found in group classes. The basic 6 week course includes clay preparation, throwing fundamentals, an introduction to making cylinder based pots and bowls. An introduction to turning and handle making.

If you have some experience and want to develop your skills further you can choose to follow a structured curriculum or develop your own projects.
